A Substitute for Sin

Isaiah 53:5-6

Sin is a fact of life. Though many modern preachers, politicians, and pundits try to deny it, basic human experience reveals otherwise. If you aren’t convinced concerning the reality of mankind’s sinfulness, just observe the news. Nearly every headline and report is an exposé concerning humanity’s fallen nature! On top of this, God has revealed that men and women have a sin problem (Romans 3:23). Thanks be to God, He didn’t make us persist in our sin and its accompanying consequence of death. In his book, Isaiah prophesied concerning the Messiah, God’s means of salvation. Although spiritual depravity is the default mode of life for every human, God offers forgiveness and eternal life. Live in light of the realities of His redemption. Keep your eyes focused on your heavenly Father.
