Pursuing Godly Ambitions

Romans 15:20

You probably have several ambitions. Professionally, you have your eyes set on a prize—maybe a promotion or ownership of your own business. Personally, you’re striving to become a better leader in your home and working on taking care of yourself. What about your spiritual ambitions? Where do your spiritual passions lie? After his conversion, the apostle Paul had his sights set on preaching the gospel in places where the name of Jesus had never been heard, and he spent the rest of his life doing so. He wasn’t disrespecting the work done in church started by others. He just left that work to someone else who had a godly zeal for it. Do you have such clarity of thought? You don’t need a “calling” to pursue most of your godly ambitions. You simply need to acknowledge that it exists deep in your heart and then prayerfully seek ways to live it out.
