Come and See

Matthew 28:18-20

Prior to the time Jesus gave the “Great Commission,“ if someone wanted to learn about God, he or she had to come to the temple in Jerusalem. It was a “come and see“ evangelism. However, Jesus’ instructions to His disciples marked a dramatic change in how people learn about Him. Seekers are no longer to come to the temple in Jerusalem to learn about salvation. Instead, now followers of Jesus have the responsibility to “go and tell“ others about the gospel message. So many of our classmates, coworkers, friends, neighbors, and family members try to find hope in every possible way. But it is our responsibility to “go and tell“ them about God’s grace and hope rather than waiting on them to “come and see.“
